The story so far

Discplina was formed in Milan, Italy, by guitarist and vocalist Marco Maisto. Over the coming years, the lineup began to take shape and in November 2020, the band released “Suicidal Tendencies”, produced by Marco Mastrobuono (Hour of Penance). This was followed by their second single, “My Destiny” in early 2021.

Drawing inspiration from genre innovators such as Obscura and Beyond Creation, as well as the later works of Chuck Schuldiner’s Death, the band fuses technical death metal with a distinct neoclassical and progressive flair. This musical vision served as the bedrock for the quartet’s identity, culminating in 2023 with the release of their debut EP, Chains of Time.

Existential Emptiness marks a turning point for the band, as Marco’s journey from 6- to 7-string guitar steers the band towards an increasingly technical and modern direction, while their maturing lyrical themes continue to touch on the human condition. With a new line-up consisting of Malaysian bassist Ezekiel Mavani, Lorenzo Cogliati on drums, and second guitarist Alessandro Amendola, a new full-length album, poised to push the sonic boundaries of tech-death, is set for release in late 2027.
